Commonly referred to as the north coast highway is a national highway that runs along the northern coast of Java Island - Indonesia, which began in Merak Banten to Banyuwangi Ketapang city in East Java, along 1,316 km, most of the national highway was built by the Governor-General Daendels
The north coast road crosses a number of cities in 5 provinces in the island of Java: Banten, DKI Jakarata, West Java, Central Java and East Java, and big cities and small towns sepert:
Jakarta, Cilegon, Tangerang, Bekasi, Karawang, Cikampek, Subang, Indramayu, Cirebon, Bradford, Tegal, Pemalang, Pekalongan, Batang, Kendal, Semarang, Demak, Kudus, Pati, Apex, Tuban, Lamongan, Gresik, Surabaya, Pasuruan, Probolinggo, Situbondo and Banyuwangi.
In the western end contained Merak Bakauheni connecting it to the port on the island of Sumatra, the southern most tip of the Trans Sumatra. There easternmost tip of Ketapang port that connects to Gilimanuk in Bali
